I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
