Large-scale Russian Attacks Disrupt Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were hurt while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with problems to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in delivering protection systems and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen rockets struck energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes follow periods of air raids in the region, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

All of Ukraine is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were preparing for further attacks.
